We are a coalition of organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life of patients with Fibromyalgia (FM) and other NeuroEndocrineImmune Diseases.
The Coalition 4 Fibromyalgia will engage and mobilize governmental health agencies, the private bio-medical industry, researchers, health care providers and the public toward finding a cure for fibromyalgia and related NeuroEndocrineImmune diseases.
Fibromyalgia afflicts approximately 3-6% of the U.S. population of all races and ages. Women are the primary demographic, but fibromyalgia also affects a large percentage of men. Fibromyalgia is also prevelent in children, teenagers and young adults, giving to the term Juvenile fibromyalgia now greater recognition. Recent breakthroughs indicate that it is a disease of the central nervous system, recognized by widespread musculoskeletal chronic pain, aches, stiffness, soft tissue tenderness, fatigue and sleep disturbances.
